3 DAY LEARN TO CRUISE: Come aboard for a 3-day live-aboard cruise that will expand your knowledge, skills and comfort zone. In this course, you will learn the basics of cruising in an auxiliary powered sailboat. We will cover trimming sails for optimum performance, different types of anchoring and anchoring procedures, and boat systems such as the diesel engine. You will gain tips on living aboard as well as what to do in case of engine or rigging failure. You will receive your ASA Basic Cruising certification, which is recognized worldwide in the sailing community. At this point, you are only one certification level away from being able to bareboat (rent a boat without hired crew) on your own; just pick your destination: Caribbean? Pacific Northwest? You are finally ready for your new life. You have completed your previous certification levels, gained experience and satisfied all of the ASA standards. Now we will get you ready to cast off the dock lines and sail away. Did you pick your destination yet? Caribbean? No problem. After this certification, you will be able to rent or buy your own boat and sail it wherever you choose. You will learn how to sail in heavy weather, how to keep your crew safe and happy, how to provision and set watches for long passages. This course encompasses all your sailing skills including docking, navigation, engine and electrical systems troubleshooting, maintenance, and most importantly how to have fun while doing it all. This is a 3-day live-aboardcourse in which you will earn your ASA Bareboat Chartering certification. This certification is widely recognized throughout the world and needed to rent boats of up to about 50 feet without a hired crew. So what are you waiting for? In this 5 day live-aboard course we integrate the Princess to Pirate and the Short Tacks to Cruising levels. You will learn sailing terminology, wind awareness, points of sail, how to steer a course and tack and jibe with confidence. You will also learn the basics of cruising in an auxiliary powered sailboat and how to be prepared for emergencies. We will cover trimming sails for optimum performance, different types of anchoring and anchoring procedures. You will also receive an introduction to boat systems and gain tips on living aboard.
